Introduction to Awesome Cloud HPC
Six months ago, I wrote a blog post compiling various products on the topic of Cloud HPC. The challenge with such a bookmark collection in a post is that it is subject to constant change. While blog posts can be edited, the term “publish” used in blogging implies that frequent modifications are not typically anticipated.
In searching for something more suited to curation, I came across the “awesome list” project. This project curates lists on specific topics. It’s primarily hosted on GitHub, which might seem like a platform just for sharing programming languages like Python, Java, or C++, but it’s also suitable for sharing Markdown files.
These aren’t just simple bookmark collections. They are formatted documents that provide information consistently. They often include necessary elements for open-source distribution, like contribution guidelines, license documents, and badges. Starting with such a small project, rather than immediately contributing to a large open-source community or launching a major open-source project, can be a good way to become familiar with using GitHub.
Therefore, I have created and distributed a repository named awesome-cloud-hpc, adding more links than I had in my previous post.
The awesome project seems to be more widely used than I thought. If you search for “awesome-{topic}”, you’ll likely find a list that someone has already created on your topic of interest. You can contribute to an existing list repository, or if you don’t find one that suits your needs, you can create your own.
Below are some awesome lists that I have been interested in, which have been recently updated:
